Refresh
“Another fresh new year is here . . .
Another year to live!
To banish worry, doubt, and fear,
To love and laugh and give!
This bright new year is given me
To live each day with zest . . .
To daily grow and try to be
My highest and my best!
I have the opportunity
Once more to right some wrongs,
To pray for peace, to plant a tree,
And sing more joyful songs!”
William Arthur Ward

Friday Finds

In this economy, I told my family not to worry about giving me anything this past Christmas, I felt like I had more than enough already surrounded by my family . SO this past week, my very thoughtful husband found something that he knew I would love and splurged. Its an Amazon Kindle (means to inspire). You can shop and order books with the push of a button and read right on this little flat screen and I don't think I have ever loved any material thing more...except of course..My camera!! Thank you so much, sweetheart!!

I lost my cousin when we were both 17. His birthday is in a few day and I wanted to dedicate this February Flower to him. Its my new key chain... to cheer up the winter and to remember him by.

A pink, jeweled keychain from a local art gallery. Something so small but I adore it.. It cheers me up and also.. Bailey sees it dangling from the ignition and tells me ,"I love your fower, Mommy." Every time she notices it. So it makes us both happy.

And...Burberry Parfum...

I haven't been able to tolerate perfum since I was pregnant with Barrington and now all of the sudden I am in love with Burberry's 'London'. I wanted to get the 'Britt' for Britton and 'weekend' and the newest 'The Beat' are all lovely.

Truth and Seeking
“You can't undo anything you've already done,
but you can face up to it.
You can tell the truth.
You can seek forgiveness.
And then let God do the rest.”

“May your days be many and your troubles be few.
May all God's blessings descend upon you.
May peace be within you may your heart be strong.
May you find what you're seeking wherever you roam.”

Tulip Tuesday
Yesterday was Tuesday and I had one more to add. More could be coming but you don't have to look if you are tired of them already. The pink is cheering me up we have had so much fog and rain. I finally saw the sun for the first time late this afternoon after thick fog all day. It was the first sun in weeks. All the moms at Bailey's Ballet class were talking about how nice it was. I was not the only one!!

Love, Hope, Joy, Empathy, Promise
“To one who has faith, no explanation is necessary.
To one without faith, no explanation is possible.”

~ Some people think only intellect counts: knowing how to solve problems, knowing how to get by, knowing how to identify an advantage and seize it.
But the functions of intellect are insufficient
without courage, love, friendship, compassion and empathy. ~
-Dean Koontz
~ The great gift of human beings is that we have the power of empathy. ~

I have been asked if this photo, 'Promise' can be featured as 'the photo of the day' in this online Newspaper...GoodNewsNow.

“To love at all is to be vulnerable. Love anything, and your heart will certainly be wrung and possibly broken. If you want to make sure of keeping it intact, you must give your heart to no one, not even to an animal. Wrap it carefully round with hobbies and little luxuries; avoid all entanglements; lock it up safe in the casket or coffin of your selfishness. But in that casket- safe, dark, motionless, airless--it will change. It will not be broken; it will become unbreakable, impenetrable, irredeemable.”

to those who still believe even though they've been wounded,
to those who still love even though they've been hurt before.”

that love is out there, it will come.
And even if it doesn't come straight away there is still that chance
all through your life that it will.”

Bailey Beautiful;
I Love To Be a Mother
Some houses try to hide the fact
that children shelter there.
Ours boasts of it quite openly,
the signs are everywhere.
For smears are on the windows,
little smudges on the doors,
I should apologize, I guess,
for toys strewn on the floor.
But I sat down with the children
and we played and laughed and read;
And if the doorbell doesn't shine,
their eyes will shine instead.
For when at times I'm forced to choose
the one job or the other;
I like to be a housewife but
I love to be a mother.

Found in the Fog

(I think... I can't remember what I ended up using! I must be in a fog.)
Also, I didn't like this shot blown up so I am only posting a medium size.
